Amy Smith, M.S., CNS Candidate

Holistic Nutrition Professional


My journey to nutrition began 11 years ago, after facing a life-changing trauma that left me with high levels of anxiety, a PTSD diagnosis, insomnia, and poor overall health. I found my way to herbs through a desire to take control of my mental health through other means outside of western medicine. I wanted to control how I felt and my ability to work through my traumas without the use of mood-altering pharmaceuticals. Herbs provided me the relief that I needed, a connection to a passion I did not know I had, and a future in helping others that I had no idea existed. Herbs showed me that food is medicine and mental, physical, and emotional healing comes from my connection to the earth and the gifts that it provides. A natural progression into the nutrition field followed my herbal studies, providing me with the ability to help others that are in the same place I have been - stressed and anxious. Whole foods, herbs, movement, self-care, stress management, loving relationships, and time in nature are evidence-based approaches to mental health that can provide sustainable changes in our health and overall wellness. Health and wellness is my passion and the approaches that I bring to my clients allows them to make the sustainable changes that they crave in their lives.

About Jared

Jared Smith trained in both the Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management programs of study at Southeast Culinary and Hospitality College and holds an AAS in Small Business Management from Northeast State Community College. He has 15 years of experience cooking in various restaurants in Kingsport, TN, and spent three years as the Purchasing Supervisor at MeadowView Conference and Convention Center. Jared’s culinary experience and passion for healthy living allows him to be effective at personalized meal planning and nutrition education.

The Soulstice Nutrition Approach

Soulstice Nutrition offers integrative nutrition & wellness intervention and education with a focus on preventative measures against health dysfunction, evaluation of current health concerns, and improvement of overall vitality. 

The services offered by Soulstice Nutrition include clinical nutrition interventions to help you make changes in your daily life to better align with a healthier lifestyle. Individual services consist of intake, strategy, and follow-up appointments, meal planning, whole-food education, and accountability. Family services include intake and interventions based on a whole-foods diet and a healthy lifestyle for the entire family. We will help you to become more educated in making decisions when grocery shopping such as which foods provide excellent nutritional value while being flavorful and within your budget. You will also learn which foods to avoid and why.
